Book Review: The Fox Inheritance by Mary E. Pearson

Synopsis (from Goodreads.com): Once there were three. Three friends who loved each other—Jenna, Locke, and Kara. And after a terrible accident destroyed their bodies, their three minds were kept alive, spinning in a digital netherworld. Even in that disembodied nightmare, they were still together. At least at first. When Jenna disappeared, Locke and Kara had to go on without her. Decades passed, and then centuries. Two-hundred-and-sixty years later, they have been released at last. Given new, perfect bodies, Locke and Kara awaken to a world they know nothing about, where everyone they once knew and loved is long dead. Everyone except Jenna Fox.

My Review: Absolutely fantastic! After The Adoration of Jenna Fox, I definitely had high hopes for this one, and it did not disappoint at all.

The Adoration of Jenna Fox wasn't exactly slow-paced, but it wasn't rushed. The Fox Inheritance on the other hand, was a definite page-turner. I couldn't put it down! It was just fantastic! I'm not even sure what else to say about it. Hmm, well the world-building was fantastic, as well as the characters. The plot wasn't all that complex, but all the different components were. It was really amazing to see them all fit together into a fantastic picture.

I think the book touched a lot on freedom and humanity, like what it means to be human. As Kara and Locke, particularly Locke struggle to catch up with a world that left them behind 260 years ago, they question things like that. Some of the other characters they met up with, particularly Dot Jefferson, left a big impression on me. This is the sort of book that lingers with you, just like the first one.

I highly recommend this book, as well as The Adoration of Jenna Fox, to everyone and look forward to book three (coming soon)!
