Book Review: The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa

Synopsis (from Goodreads.com):

Half Summer faery princess, half human, Meghan has never fit in anywhere. Deserted by the Winter prince she thought loved her, she is prisoner to the Winter faery queen. As war looms between Summer and Winter, Meghan knows that the real danger comes from the Iron fey—ironbound faeries that only she and her absent prince have seen. But no one believes her.

Worse, Meghan's own fey powers have been cut off. She's stuck in Faery with only her wits for help. Trusting anyone would be foolish. Trusting a seeming traitor could be deadly. But even as she grows a backbone of iron, Meghan can't help but hear the whispers of longing in her all-too-human heart.

My Review: This book was wonderful. It was twice as good as The Iron King. Lots of twists and turns, some not entirely unexpected but still surprising all the same. There was also a rather entertaining love triangle. Those are always fun. As are faery cats, 'temporary fairy-godmothers,' and psychotic Iron Fey (oxymoron;).

The characters were all pretty awesome. I liked them all. They made me laugh quite a bit. Some of them made me frown, but nothing made me cry.

So the ending was written really well. I was kind of shocked to hear that there was going to be a third one, and then I was super excited. Now I hear there is going to be a fourth one! :D This series definitely has my recomendation and praise. I'm almost done with the third book so keep your eyes open for a review! Thanks for reading!

P.S. This thing is adorable:

  1. Love triangles and lots of twists and turns always manage to keep a book interesting :) Sounds very promising. Also, that little yellow creature is the cutest! lol I loved that movie... Anyhoo, thanks for the review!

  2. No problem! Thanks for stopping by!

  3. I'm glad to hear this was good! The whole series intrigues me, and it sounds like it doesn't disappoint. Thanks! :)
